The 7 days safari of Gorilla trekking involves two main activities, gorilla and chimpanzee trekking. From the time you start your journey from Entebbe Airport to your final destination expect alot along the route. The safari includes touring Uganda’s top tourist sites like Kibale Forest National Park for tracking the chimpanzees and undertake a nature walk in the Bigodi wetland sanctuary. Queen Elizabeth National Park for game viewing and afternoon Boat cruising and finally travel to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for chimpanzee trekking in the western Uganda. Kibale Forest National Park is a 12km hike and the best months are mid Novermber-Fedruary, June and September (dry season). During hiking you will discover the park’s assorted habitats such as river line forest, swamp, grassland and tropical rainforest. Bird lovers, Kibale Forest National Park is the best safari destination in Africa.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the frequently visited National Parks established in 1952 with over 95 species of mammals and more than 600 species of birds. Its found in western Uganda, nearest to the historical town called fort portal, spanning in the districts of; Kamwenge, Rubirizi, Rukungiri and Kasese.

Day 1: Picking from Airport
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park.
Day 3: Chimp tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Day 4: Game driving
Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Day 6: Gorilla trekking.
Day 7: Transfer to back to the Airport.

Day 1: Arrival and Airport pick-up

Before stepping your feet on the land of Uganda, our driver or guide will be readily available to pick you up. Associate with him (greet) and have a simple briefing from him. His well conversant with English, French, Swahili and the native language Luganda. Later embark on a journey to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. For the best accommodation option, you can inquire from our driver or google to find out that suites in your budget.

Day 2: Drive to Kibale Forest National Park.

Wake up early and get ready (breakfast), meet with your Driver/guide to transport you from the hotel/lodge to Kibale Forest National Park which takes about 6-7 hours depending on your actual location. Kibale Forest National Park is a rainforest for many primates like chimpanzees and many more.  Along your exciting journey, enjoy the of lush tea plantations of Toro, the Mubende Rocks, herds of cattle and stopovers at the mysterious Nakayima tree and finally for lunch in Fort Portal Town. In the evening continue to the Lodge within Kibale Forest National Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Just like any other journey, it’s better to be comfortably satisfied to be strong while tracking Chimpanzees. Take along a backpack with a bottle of mineral water and the necessary documents for check-ins. Head at Kanyanchu Visitor center for a briefing where you provided a supporting stick while hiking up and down the steep slopes. Walk at your own pace however at times it needs to move fast in order to catch up with time. The park ranger alerts you of the chimpanzee presence which could be after like 2-3 hours of trekking. The park ranger allows the group of visitors to spend one hour with the endangered animal species (chimps). Have a delicious meal at the lodge and be transferred to Queen Elizabeth National Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Game driving, boat cruising.

Game driving involves driving throught the park while watching and studying the behaviors of wild animals. The best time for visiting Queen Elizabeth National Park is during the dry season, January to Februaury, June to September. During wet season, the roads are slippery making it hard to manuever.  Game driving starts early in  morning game drive where you have sights of the African wildlife including Uganda Kobs, Lions, leopards, buffaloes, Topis, elephants, and warthogs among others. This package includes exploring some of the great Crater Lakes in the Park and bird species. Have lunch at the Lodge.
The best time for boat cruising is in the afternoon along Kazinga Channel since majority of the wild animals gather to drink water. At the banks of the Channel are the Nile crocodiles and Hippos which gather for relaxing as well as the aquatic birds especially the African fish eagles and pelicans among others. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Gorilla trekking is the major reason for this safari and it’s on day 5 that you will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to achieve your goal, at the same time be rewarded. Pack all your belongings and check-out of the Lodge and head for the  the long waited activity.  Enjoy the blowing winds through the vehicle windows trying to have a perfect view of Kigezi highlands. Have a delicious meal for Lunch at Savannah Resort in Kihihi.

Day 6: Gorilla trekking activity.

Be ready as early as possible, take your time and have breakfast before the trekking activity. Immediately after breakfast, head for briefing with your fellow trekkers for the briefing on the guidelines of the activity (gorilla trekking). The maximum number of trekkers in a group are 8 people with an escort of two armed park rangers, one to lead and the other at the back. At the headquarters, porters are available to be hired at an affordable price. They carry your back pack and give you a push or a pull on slipppery grounds. Afterallocation of the gorilla family in about 1-4 hours, spend an hour with them closing watching how they run their daily activites.  You may decide to have an evening walk incase you not too exhausted. However, you may chose to relax at the lodge.

Day 7: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe.
