Our 4 Days Gorillas and Golden monkey safari take you to Mgahinga highlands where you will find the golden-furred monkeys and also a trip through Bwindi forest. This tour starts and ends in Entebbe. Alternatively, for travelers who are in Kigali or flying through Kigali, we can also tailor this African safari journeys package to start and end in Kigali Rwanda. The highlights and activities on this trip include; gorilla tracking in Bwindi or Mgahinga, a strenuous hike through the tropical rain forests of Bwindi as you search for the might mountain giants.

Day 1: Your Arrival, Transfer From Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi

Depart Entebbe\Kampala for your 8-9 road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in South western Uganda. You will have an en route stopover at the Equator crossing for photographic and simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for Lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi NP.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to half the number of mountain gorillas in the whole world and is the only place where chimpanzees co-exist with Mountain Gorillas.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Forest National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Gorilla Trek. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three-quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in Mgahinga National Park

After your breakfast, you will drive to Mgahinga National Park for briefing and then go golden monkey trekking. This golden monkey walk will expose you to other attractions in the park before returning back to your hotel for overnight.

Day 4: Last Day of Safari & transfer back to Kampala/Kigali

Have breakfast at leisure and set off for your transfer back to the destination you were picked from; Our transfer stops at the airport (or hotel) of your preference

Best Time to Visit Rwanda

Planning to visit Rwanda for an safari holiday or trip? The best time to visit Rwanda varies according to the seasosn of the year; i.e. between June to Mid-September is the long dry season; October to November is a shorter rainy season and it’s followed by a short dry season from December to February. During both of Rwanda’s dry seasons, there is often light cloud cover. Therefore, one can choose Rwanda at any time of the year depending on the safari expectations and interests.
