3 Days Rwanda Bird Watching Safari.
The 3 days Rwanda Bird wathing safari in Nyungwe Forest National Park is one of the remarkable short bird watching trips in Rwanda with great rewards. Nyungwe National park to the south west of Rwanda is the leading bird watching destination in Rwanda. it has 275 species of burds including 25 Albertine endemics. The safari starts and ends in Kigali.
Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
You will have breakfast early in the morning and depart at 6:30 am to Nyungwe Forest National Park south west of Rwanda. You will enjoy the beautiful Rwanda hills and the optional culutural visit to Nyanza palace, the home of the last two kings of Rwanda namely: Rusinga and Rudahigwa or at the Enthnographic Museum in Butare depicting Rwanda’s History and tradition can be arranged. When you arrive at Nyungwe Forest, you will check in the lodge, freshen up and head for an afternoon birding encounter in this acient forest while guided by a park ranger.
Day 2: Bird watching in Nyungwe Forest
Have an early breakfast before heading into the forest, have a walk into the forest where you will be able to see a number of different bird species.
Day 3: Morning Bird watching or optional chimpanzee trekking
This morning you can choose to engage in more birding encounter and gain a chance to see more birds that you could have missed out the previous day. Alternatively you could go chimpanzee trekking in Nyungwe Forest National park to explore the greatest apes closest to man kind in terms of DNA. The chimp lasts 2-5 hours. From either of these encounters you emback on a journey back to Kigali.
