5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari takes you to Volcanoes National Park the natural habitat of the endangered Mountain gorillas and golden monkeys for Gorilla trekking. The safari exposes you to a number of activities which include a guided city tour of Kigali, a visit to the genocide memorial center and 2 gorilla treks, but is a little more flexible in terms of arrival and departure flight planning. You will stay at the five star (*) Kigali Serena Hotel and a wide range of exceptional accommodation options in Kinigi to chose from depending on budget preferences. Again 1 gorilla trek can be substituted for a golden monkey trek if desired.
This safari will take you to the northern part of Rwanda in the volcanoes national park which offers the perfect inhabitant for mountain gorillas. The route to this park takes you through a number of communities where you enjoy the scenery of ‘the thousand hills’.
The price of this 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari includes two mountain gorilla trekking permit ($1,500 each), park fees and professional trackers. Probably the easiest way to trek for gorillas in Rwanda.
Day 1: Arrival in the Beautiful Kigali City
Arrive at Kigali airport, for the 5 Days Rwanda Gorilla Trekking Safari and you will be picked by our representative, who will transfer you to Kigali Serena Hotel (no other services included). If any additional services are required on this day, please ask for a separate quote.
Meal plan – Lunch and Dinner
Day 2: Kigali City Tour and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will have a half day Kigali city tour, including the genocide museum/memorial, then we drive to Kinigi via Ruhengeri. The road to Ruhengeri is sealed offering the stunning scenery of the hills and valleys of this green and lush country, taking a little more than 2 hours. From Ruhengeri, we have a 20-minute drive to Kinigi at the base of Sabyinyo Mountain, with excellent views of the rest of all of the Virunga Volcanoes. Arrive late evening and check into your lodge, ranging from budget, mid-range and luxury facilities. All these accommodations offer a magnificent view of the park. Have dinner and rest.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking Experience in Volcanoes National Park
You will have an early breakfast and head to the park headquarters for a briefing where you will be told about the dos and don ts of a gorilla trekking activity by the park rangers. You will hike through the verdant jungle looking for mountain gorillas. Some amount of physical fitness is needed during this activity since it involves a lot of energy to climb hills. The experience is tedious but impressive when you finally get to meet the mountain gorillas. You’ll spend an hour with them, see them in families as they go about their day-to-day routine activities; mothers caring for the young, playing as well as feeding. You are required to maintain a distance while you watch them, make sure to turn off the flash of your camera as you take pictures. gorilla Trekking takes approximately two to six hours.

Day 4: Second gorilla trekking day
After breakfast, we hike into the forest to where the gorillas were seen the night before and track from that point. The trekking can take from 1 to 6 hours and climb to altitudes not in excess of 7,500 feet. The terrain is rough and at times muddy. Although the hike is physically demanding the beauty of the forest and surrounding scenery make the trekking worthwhile. Once the gorillas are located all fatigue is forgotten, as the experience is often described as being the most profound natural history experience in the world. Picnic lunches are provided and it is important to take plenty of water. Cameras and plenty of fast speed film are recommended. It can rain at a few minutes notice, hence waterproof clothing is a good essential including waterproof bags for cameras and film.

Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali
After breakfast, You will be transferred to Kigali, do a simple city tour, visit nearby communities, local crafts shopping and a like as you prepare and plan for your flight plans.
