10 days of safari trekking for gorillas 

10 days of gorilla trekking in Uganda mainly focuses on major activities that are carrried out in the park. Therefore, the package involves mountain gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking, wildlife viewing and launch cruising.

Day 1: Arrival in Uganda.
Arriving in Uganda are many different means which include by air or by road transport and by water transport. Considering that you used air transport, be picked from airport and be transfered to a hotel to rest. Meet one of our team members at the airport, greet and introduce to each other shortly. The guide will summarise the itinerary of 10 days of gorilla trekking in Uganda. Spend an overnight at one of the hotels in Entebbe which could be Boma Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Kibaale Forest national park

Have an early Morning breakfast and start the journey, head to Kampala taking the western route towards Fort Portal town through Mityana and Mubende towns. It takes about an average of 5 hours to Kibale. Along the way, you will notice different plantayions which could be for maize or matooke and finally animal farms. You might have stopovers along the way whoever for a few minutes such that we reach on time. Continue to the lodge for lunch and check in. However, you might decide to have optional activities such as; Nature walk, and Crater lakes Adventure. .

Day 3: Chimpanzee Tracking.

Get served breakfast early in the morning at your lodge and get ready for chimpanzee trekking in Kibale forest national park. All travelers attend a briefing early in the morning before actual chimp tracking to mainly know the major important rules and regulations while in the park. Sometimes the briefing lasts for 30 minute or one hour. After the briefing, the park guide transfers you to the starting point of tracking for chimpanzees. Since the chimpanzees are many in this forest, there are high chances(95%) of seeing the chimpanzees in this forest. Tracking chimpanzees takes 3-5 hours, by midday get back for lunch at the lodge and rest.  Prepare for dinner and Overnight.

Day 4:Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The day starts with a cup of tea and later be transfered to Queen Elizabeth national park, the mostly visited national park in Uganda. This park is known to be ‘Uganda’s Best’. This is the most reliable park in Uganda for lion, which is particularly common on the grassy Kasenyi Plains but is more famous for its tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector. Later drive to Katwe-Kabatooro community for a walk which includes being entertained by the locals in dances and songs.  Explore the daily activities including salt mining and agriculture which boosts their incomes. Visit L. Munyanyange, the small seasonal shallow crater lake located in North East of Katwe town. But a number of others particularly come to watch and listen to the sweet sounds of birds at Lake Munyanyange mainly flamingos and others like the White Browed Robbin Chats, Black Headed Gonoleks, Long Tailed Starlings, African Hoopoes, Winding, Zitting, and Desert Cisticolas. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and in the evening have an exceptional game drive. Dinner will be served at any lodge of your choice.

Day 5:Game driving and boat cruising
These are the main activities that are enjoyed by our daily visitors and starts in the morning immediately after breakfast. Game driving is done in the Kasenyi area expecting to view early morning predators such as leopards, and lions, different antelope species, buffaloes, elephants, hippos, warthogs, waterbucks, etc. Queen Elizabeth national park is the perfect place for birders with over 606 species from neighbouring areas (immigratory), Albertine Rift and country.  In the afternoon after lunch, walk down to the Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise between lakes Edward and George. This channel has many hippopotami, elephants, and bird species. At this point, you have a view of  the cross section of all the wildlife in this park. Mweya Safari Lodge is perfect for dinner and overnight.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi National park.
The distance to Bwindi National Park is long and so, the journey starts from morning passing via Ishasha sector.  Ishasha sector is the famous with tree-climbing lions. The knowledgeable and experienced tour guide will have stopovers at different points to take photograghs and capture videos. Proceed and have picnic lunch, arriving in Bwindi in the afternoon. Dinner and overnight at any lodge of your choice.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking & Community walk
Just like any other day of tour, wake up very early take break fast and get ready for Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Remember to carry enough drinking water, snacks and a lunchbox and other necessary equipments that might be needed while hiking up and down for gorillas. It’s an exciting wildlife experience activity that  shouldn’t miss on your list. The professional guide, always interprets the flora and fauna and the lifestyle of the Gorillas. The lifestyle; feeding habits, mating, social life and where they live. Dinner and overnight at a near Lodge.

Day 8: Batwa community walk
Before you step out of the lodge, take a hefty breakfast and start the Journey. Whole day 8 will be spent with the Batwa (Pygmies), who are said to be the first people to leave in this forest. They lived, hunted and gathered fruits from this foorest but they were pushed out of it and lived a miserable life. They constructed huts using trees, leaves and climbing plants from the forest. Take time to learn and later get involved in their economic activities such as cooking, fetching water and collecting fireood among others. The Batwa women and men will guide you through the dancing, singing, handling the bow, gather honey, and picking herbal medicine from roots and leaves a local way of treatment. The simple experience will give great honor to the Batwa people and a story to tell back home. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Sanctuary Gorilla Forest Camp.

Day 9: Depart Bwindi for Kampala
Depart Bwindi for Kampala after breakfast early in the morning. Due to the long distance, this might take the whole day. While seated comfortably in the car, you may take time to review the pictures and videos taken while on tour for the past days.  In the afternoon have lunch and relaxation. Dinner and overnight at Protea Hotel

Day 10: Kampala City Tour
This is your last day of the safari and so we will take you through Kampala city. This will include visiting some of the city tresures such as Acacia mall and finally be driven to Entebbe for your flight back home.

Best Time to Visit Rwanda
